MEMORANDUM FOR NEW "TIMBERWOLVES" 104TH PERSONNEL
SUBJECT: SETUP GUIDE FOR TASK FORCE ARROWHEAD RADIO
ATTENTION ALL NEW PERSONNEL: you are ordered to complete the following steps as presented immediately:
1. Download and install TeamSpeak3 to your standard issue W-10 Tactical Assault Computer: TS3 Downloads Page
2. Download the TFAR-TS3 Plugin(s): TS3-TFAR Plugin Download
3. Double click the plugin(s) to install them. Be sure the box to immediately enable the plugin is ticked.
4. Subscribe to the TFAR mod for Arma 3 on the Steam Workshop: TFAR on the Steam Workshop
ADDITIONALLY: upon receiving orders to move into the AO, you are ordered to complete the following:
1. Open TeamSpeak3
2. Connect to the "Timberwolves" 104th Communication System: ts3.mcmonkey.org
3. Ensure you have set TS3 communication mode to Push-To-Talk. Assign a hot-key to use for close range communication (not radio communication).
4. In the Arma 3 launcher, select the Mods tab and enable "task_force_radio".
BEFORE BEGINNING ENGAGEMENT: ensure your radio is configured:
1. Load your equipment loadout from the Arsenal. A radio will automatically be given to you after you close the arsenal.
2. Press CTRL+P to open your radio controls.
3. Use your mouse to click (Clear Frequency Button), then type 104, and then use your mouse to click (Set Frequency)
4. Now click the left arrow at the bottom to set this as your alternate channel. It should display A1 104 at the top of the radio.
5. Now press Numpad 2. You should see C2 at the top of your radio.
6. Again click , then type 104.1 (if Alpha Team) or 104.2 (if Bravo Team), then click . You should see C2 104.1 (or .2)
7. Now press CTRL+P again to close your radio.
8. You can now press CAPSLOCK to speak to your team, or press T if you need to communicate to the full squad. Do so only if necessary.
You can also use your TS3 push-to-talk key to speak locally (to players standing right next to you). 9. Note: leave 'Speakers' disabled (should be set to 'Headphone'). Many players like using stereo settings, eg main channel in left ear and alternate channel in right ear.

WHEN ON THE BATTLEFIELD: remember the following tools:
- Press your TS3 Push-To-Talk key to speak close range (not into any radio).
- Use the CAPSLOCK key to speak into your radio.
- Use the CTRL+CAPSLOCK key to speak into your long-range radio (if you have a long range radio).
- Press CTRL+TAB to cycle voice volume (whisper, normal, yell).
- Press CTRL+P to pull up your radio control options (including: speakerphone vs. headphone button, volume buttons, frequency customizer, left/right ear customizer).
- Press numpad keys 1-9 to change your radio channel.
- Press Alt+P to pull up your long range radio control options (if you have a long range radio).
- Hold CTRL and press numpad keys 1-9 to change your long range radio channel (if you have a long range radio).
- Be aware that the channel you are on matters.
- Be aware that different radios have different channels, different ranges, and different qualities. Be sure you have the correct radio(s) for the mission you are on.
- You can configure a second channel to listen to. To do this:
- 1. Open your radio menu.
- 2. Configure channel #2 to the frequency you need.
- 3. With channel 2 selected, press the "Set Alternate Channel" button (at the bottom). You might also configure additional options (such as left/right ear settings) at this time.
- 4. Switch back to channel #1.
- Note that you can speak on your alternate channel by pressing T.

RADIO CLASSIFICATIONS:
- The AN/PRC-152 is a medium range (5km) range personal radio, normally given to squad leaders.
- The AN/PRC-154 is a short range (2km) range personal radio, normally given to standard infantry.
For the Timberwolves, all infantry use the AN/PRC-152.
- The RT-1523G is a long range (20km) backpack radio, normally given to squad communications experts.
Note that exact radio range may be lower than listed due to terrain or other limiting factors.
- The AN/PRC-154 is a short range (2km) range personal radio, normally given to standard infantry.
For the Timberwolves, all infantry use the AN/PRC-152.
- The RT-1523G is a long range (20km) backpack radio, normally given to squad communications experts.
Note that exact radio range may be lower than listed due to terrain or other limiting factors.
